Azrom is one of the largest agro-tech companies in Israel.
Jerusalem, May 21, 2014 – A delegation of Chinese investors brought to Israel by the Israel China Interflow Association (ICIA) visited Azrom this afternoon, one of the largest agro-tech companies in Israel, to learn about Azrom’s cutting-edge agricultural technology and their engineering of greenhouses.
The Chinese delegation is in Israel as part of the Israel-China Economic Summit, taking place May 20-21, and hosted by the Israel China Interflow Association (ICIA) and the Knesset Hi-tech Caucus. The Summit welcomed Chinese investors and businessmen as part of a Chinese delegation to meet some of the country’s most promising entrepreneurs and executives in a variety of fields, especially hi-tech and agro-tech. The conference is providing the Chinese visitors, whom were brought to Israel by the ICIA, an opportunity to engage in face-to-face dialogue with potential business partners.
The afternoon began with the Chinese delegation touring an Azrom advanced greenhouse facility in Ein Tzurim that uses cutting-edge greenhouse technologies to produce tomato seeds that make up 10-15 percent of tomato seeds worldwide.
“I have over 100 acres of land in China that deeply require more advanced technologies to improve our growth potential and make us more successful,” said Liu Yenhua of the Henan Lvdu Agricultural Science and Technology Co. in China. “That is why I was so interested in seeing the technologies of Azrom.”
After the tour, the Chinese were escorted to Azrom headquarters for a formal pitch to invest in the company or to bring Azrom technologies home to China with them.
Wednesday’s morning session of the conference began with meetings between the Chinese delegation and Eliezer Sandberg, Chairman of Karen Hayesod, followed by a sit down and presentation with Yigal Erlich, former chief scientist of Israel and the ‘founding father of venture capitalism in Israel’ who is now the founder and chairman of The Yozma Group, which manages venture capital funds. MK Robert Ilatov, chair of the Knesset Hi-Tech caucus, concluded with a presentation about the hi-tech industry in Israel.
